Welcome
A little about ken
Born in Astoria, Oregon, it might seem strange to consider Davis a photgrapher of this multi-ethnic nation - but he fell in love with the landscape, culture and people of the country on a journey there over 5 years ago with partner Kevin Draves, when traveling to visit with Himalayan Healthcare and the artisans of Jeevankala as one of the persepective, and now ongoing vendors for Passiflora Home. Oustside of the unlimited offers of local art and artisans at their unique shop, the business and lifelong partners spend the remainder of their buying dollars on companies that give back to the artisans in their respective communities as well. Davis and Draves would later travel back to the country in order to assist with the redesign of the Jeevankala retail outlet in Kathmandu, and to also design the poster for the documentery film 'Hearts in the Himalyas' – that which Himalayan Healthcare was chosen by Caring for The World Films and in which Ken Davis appears in a photo taken by Kevin Draves.
It was a world they discovered together that spoke to Davis as a creator. “Photography has taken me to places I never would have imagined.” Traveling in India and Nepal” he continues, “transformed me in many ways. The people, the culture and my connection to their spirit is inspiring, and the beauty, spirituality and colors of the Eastern World draw me back again and again.” When meeting with Davis in person, one gets the sense that this photographer has connections on more levels than one can see with the naked eye, but this artist appears to have captured a way to transport others to places via the eye of his camera lens. His sincere smile lights up the room, much like the light behind his photos, and also when he punctuates his sincere statement with the phrase “In India-I am home”.
